Obviously, the viability of Deaf students' full participation in regular classrooms relies on an acknowledgement of the different communication needs of Deaf students and some system to compensate for these problems. The provision of interpreters in the regular classroom is seen as vital if Deaf students are to have equal access to the education provided to their hearing peers.
